33 teens in foster care were transported through a whirlwind day that saw them arriving in the morning in jeans and t-shirts, and by 5:30 being escorted down the red carpet into a formal princess ball.
The event was a one day event this year that will become the opening act for a multi-day overnight camp in 2016. An overnight camp exclusively for teens in foster care. Fostering Bulloch is affiliating with a national organization TRAC (Teen Reach Adventure Camps) to develop these efforts.
Amazing people donating skills of photography, videography, floristry, music, piano playing, seamstressing, makeup artistry, hair dressing, decorating, organizing, prayer and so much more, All for 33 girls to hear...at least for one night...that they are more than what life has handed them. They are daughters of God the Father, the one true King.
Katie Bulmer, a volunteer, said “ I saw a girls head fall to her hands when she saw herself in a dress for the first time. I saw a limo full of girls in shock when they saw the guys waiting for them on the red carpet and I saw a shy little girl ask for the mic at the end of the night to thank everyone for making her feel like a princess. Today they are back to "real life" but I can't keep thinking of these sweet princesses and hopeful today is a better day than it was before they came”
Dr. Michael Braz, who performed for the young ladies , said “ I am amazed at the number of people who have collaborated to make the day so special for so many young people……you managed to create a dinner that was, in every aspect, on par with the Deen Day Smith awards-no mean feat!”
Susan Yawn commented “ yesterday was such an amazing day! Tears filled my eyes when I saw their faces as they pulled up to the red carpet”
